Fencing
Consider changing your current garden fence which is no longer presentable and functionable? Or perhaps you are moving into a new house and needing to mark the boundaries? Tony Benger Landscaping can supply and install a wide range of fences to the specification and your needs.
Fences come in all shapes and sizes, so how should you start planning your fencing project? Let’s first focus on what are the key qualities you are after:
- Providing privacy for you and your family
- Keeping your pets safe outdoors
- Adding extra style & design elements to your garden
- Adding extra security to your home
- Marking property boundaries
- Providing a windbreak for fragile plants
- Ensuring stock control
- Controlling wild animals such as deer
Below we have also briefly reviewed some key styles you could consider:
Overlap Panel fencing (traditional fence panels)
Overlap panels are made using pieces of batten attached to the front and back of panels with a small overlap in between, Panels are pressure treated and among the more cost effective of fencing options.
Feather edge fencing (close-board fence)
Close board or Feather edge panels are created using long thin slats of wood overlapped upright onto each other and then capped to provide a pleasant finish.
Picket Fencing
Picket fencing as seen in many traditional cottage gardens is a pleasant and attractive fence to mark out a boundary at the front of a property or divide a particular area within a garden such as the vegetable patch. Pickets are either rounded or pointed on the top and it comes to your personal preference. A standard picket fence offers a gap of 2 inches between each pale; however, Tony Benger Landscaping is capable of installing custom made fencing.
Horizontal Weave fencing (Interwoven)
This is an alternative option to overlap panels; it looks the same on either side and offers the advantage that it allows the wind to pass through more easily. Therefore, interwoven fencing is less prone to damage from high winds.
There are many more styles of fencing available - thanks to the expertise of our contract’s managers, we can help guide you to a fence that suits your garden and its requirements whilst still being classic or contemporary in style. In the end of the day, although your garden needs zoning, sometimes trellising is a good choice for extra privacy to specific areas without blocking out too much of sunlight.
